FAQ's
We’ve compiled answers to the questions we hear most often about our drone photography and videography services across Sussex and the South Coast. From service areas and pricing to legal compliance and booking details, you’ll find everything you need to know about working with Coastal Skies.
What areas do you serve for drone photography and videography?
We are based in Littlehampton, West Sussex and regularly work throughout the South Coast. Our primary service areas include Littlehampton, Rustington, East Preston, Worthing, Brighton, Chichester, Portsmouth, and surrounding towns in Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset. If you have a project outside these locations, feel free to contact us—we often travel to meet our clients’ needs.
Is Coastal Skies licensed and insured for commercial drone work?
Our drones weigh under 250 g, so we do not require special CAA permissions. However, we still adhere to UK drone regulations and safety rules, carry appropriate insurance, and conduct thorough pre‑flight planning for every project.
What types of projects do you specialise in?
We specialise in aerial photography and videography for real‑estate marketing, construction progress documentation, weddings, events, tourism promotion, social‑media campaigns and bespoke commercial projects. Our 4K/20‑megapixel cameras capture high‑resolution images and smooth, cinematic footage that elevate your brand or project.
How much do your drone services cost?
Pricing depends on factors like project location, scope, flight time, and editing requirements. We offer standard packages for single property shoots, hourly rates for events, and custom quotes for long‑term projects such as construction progress monitoring. Contact us with details about your project and we’ll provide a tailored estimate.
What is the booking process?
To book a project, fill out our contact form or call us directly. We’ll discuss your needs, provide a quote and confirm availability. Once booked, we’ll handle flight planning, permissions, and insurance. On the day of the shoot, our pilot will arrive on site, brief you on the plan, and capture the imagery you need.
How do you handle weather and flight permissions?
Weather plays a big role in drone safety and image quality. We monitor forecasts closely and may reschedule flights if conditions aren’t safe (e.g., high winds or heavy rain). For certain locations, we may need to apply for special permissions or notify local authorities. We handle all regulatory requirements and will let you know if extra lead time is needed.
How soon can I receive my photos or videos?
Turnaround time varies by project. For single property shoots, edited photos are typically delivered within 3–5 business days. Video editing, timelapses or construction progress compilations may take 7–10 days. If you need expedited delivery, let us know—we do our best to accommodate tight deadlines.
Can you edit the footage for social media or specific formats?
Absolutely. We offer editing services tailored to platforms like Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. We can create short promotional clips, timelapse sequences, overlays and custom graphics. Let us know where you plan to publish the content, and we’ll format it appropriately.
Do I need to be on site during the shoot?
While you’re welcome to be present, it’s not mandatory. After discussing your requirements, we can capture the footage independently. For construction and property shoots, we’ll coordinate with site managers or estate agents to ensure access and safety.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We understand that schedules can change. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Depending on the notice period, there may be a cancellation fee to cover pre‑flight planning and permits, but we aim to be flexible and accommodate new dates whenever possible.
